Ozaukee Birth Class

Meet your Natural Birth Expert

Dr. Camille Berger

I am a Prenatal and Pediatric Chiropractor by training, but an educator by heart. After all, doctor does mean teacher.

I always knew I wanted to help families, I just didn’t know what that meant until I went through the journey of growing my own family. After getting married, my husband and I welcomed our daughter just before our 2nd wedding anniversary. However, it wasn’t as magical and beautiful as I always dreamed. It was traumatic and sent me into a depression.

Years later, pregnant with my second, I KNEW I needed to prepare. I found a birth class that opened a whole new world of birth for me. I went on to have an empowering and redeeming second and third birth.

After walking through an easy pregnancy, a traumatic birth, a complicated pregnancy, an empowering birth, and a SUPRISE homebirth. I KNEW that the families in Ozaukee County needed a birth class.

I am so excited that I have found my voice in birth. I feel blessed that I have found a birth community that serves women on their journeys. And most of all, I am thrilled to work with all of them, and you as you grow your family!

You don’t need to have a traumatic birth to seek an empowering one. I hope to help guide you as you do it the empowering way the first time. If you already have the guilt, depression, pain, and tears - I have been there. Let’s walk out of it together!

What have others said about Early Beginnings Birth Classes?

I was seeking in-person education and I wanted to feel empowered and in control of my birthing journey...After this class, I can say both my husband and I feel more educated, more empowered, and more excited about our birth journey - even within a hospital setting as planned.
— Taysia
Birth is a natural thing that our bodies were designed for.
— Nic
We chose Early Beginnings Birth because my wife and I want a natural birth for our child. I also wanted to learn more than what our doctor was discussing with us. This class exceeded my expectations. Please know this class is not just for people who want a home birth.
— Cedric
It is so important to know your options & be able to have confidence in the decisions you’re making for yourself & your baby...I feel much more confident in my decision for natural birth.

Why Early Beginnings Natural Birth Classes?

Early Beginnings Natural Birth Classes are for you if you are seeking a partner-supported, anxiety-free birth & empowering postpartum period.

This model differs from a typical hospital’s class.

A hospital birth class is written to keep you aligned with the hospital's process. They show and tell you what is going to happen to you at their facility. Most hospitals have now transitioned to a virtual class model, which is not ideal for practicing essential labor poses and techniques.

Early Beginnings classes teach about physiological birth and empower you to understand the amazing feat your body is accomplishing.

We are all about empowered & informed birth choices. Go into whichever birth setting you please with all the necessary tools in your toolbelt. It's not something that happens to you. Birth happens for you, and makes you who you are.

Let’s get your questions answered…

What if my spouse can't come?

“If your spouse is unable to come, or you don’t have a dedicated labor-support person, we would encourage you to bring along your sister, your mom, or a trusted friend. This is a class designed for pairs, but your partner can be whomever you choose. We will let you know in advance which classes include partner-supported labor poses so you know which weeks you may want your spouse to be present.”

When should I take the class?

“Ideally, you would take the class early on in your pregnancy - as early as 12 weeks. We want to make sure that you have the advantage of having plenty of time to prepare, decide what you want, and remain healthy and active throughout your pregnancy. Don't worry, if you are in your third trimester, you can still join us! The class is spaced so you can still squeeze it in and get plenty of great info, tips, and tricks!”

Is this class for me if I plan to give birth in a hospital?

“Yes! We want to give you knowledge about common interventions so that you are equipped to make your own decision. We will look at all the paths your birth may take, learn about your options, and then you will choose what feels good to you.”

This isn't my first pregnancy.

“Absolutely. It’s never too late to learn more about how to support your body through this difficult journey. Dr. Camille’s own first birth was very traumatic - that experience led her to seek education. Her second and third births went totally differently as a result.”

What if I already have a doula?

“Doulas are an essential part of your birth team. In this class, we teach that every mom should have a doula. However, over the course of our class, we will spend 10+ hours together hyperfocused on education, connection, and community. Because we will have this time together, we will be able to cover more ground. You will be walking through a unique stage of life with 3 other couples who get it.

Your doula may help you write your birth plan. In our class, we teach about birth mapping, which is significantly different. This is a process that we would encourage you to collaborate on with your doula.

What if I miss a class?

“Classes are not recorded, so it is in your best interest to attend every session. However, you will receive notes & resources for each session in advance.”
