Hi! I’m Dr. Camille Berger

I am a Chiropractor by trade.  I am a wellness guide at heart.

I love to see families with a special interest in fertility, pregnancy, and the mother-baby dyad.  I love to care for older kids, dads, and grandparents when they desire a wellness lifestyle.  I guide mothers on their journey coming back to themselves as they focus on their wellness, first.  I work with couples as they prepare for parenthood.  I use the 8 pillars of the Schaefer Procotol as couples prepare their minds, bodies, and souls for growing their family.

I believe that God created our bodies to function and heal.  Through daily life stressors, physical changes and choices, and our environment, we can become overwhelmed and struggle to adapt.  Through chiropractic care and lifestyle changes, we can help our bodies adapt and return to function and healing.  It is my goal to guide you on that journey.

My Story

About a year into marriage, we quickly became pregnant with our first child.  The pregnancy was totally normal and uncomplicated.  Except, like many first-time moms, I quickly approached 41 weeks at which time I was sent for a hasty induction.  After hours of trying to get things moving, I eventually had an urgent C-section.  This was the one thing that I didn’t expect or want to happen.  It was a traumatic birth experience for me, and when I held my daughter for the first time I wept because I thought I would never have another baby.

After a year of soul searching, a miscarriage, and a job that just wasn’t aligned with my values, we packed up for Davenport, IA.  The next 4 years of our lives would change and shape our lives forever.

Two years into Chiropractic school, we became pregnant with our second child.  I knew I wanted to have a natural birth after the traumatic C-section.  And I knew it would require a lot of work. We found a doula, took birth classes, saw the chiropractor frequently, changed our diets, and moved our bodies.  I found out that I had gestational diabetes right before Thanksgiving.  Cue the waterworks!  I could not understand how because I did everything right.  I worked through the rest of the pregnancy with my plan.  I ate the best diet I knew how to, I moved my body, and I gave birth to a 10 lb baby boy without a drop of pain medication.  I felt completely invigorated by the experience.

A little over a year later, I was pregnant again!  I had the same plan - doula, review birth classes, eat well, and move my body.  I added in some different supplements and juicing.  I was still diagnosed with gestational diabetes, but it was much easier to manage this pregnancy.  Our spitfire third child surprised us 3 weeks early with a 45-minute labor at home!

Over the course of my three pregnancies, I became progressively healthier and my pregnancies were easier each time.  I also started to notice that my children had fewer struggles with their own health as I was healthier with my habits.

I dug deeper into this observation and found out how important preconception is to support a healthy pregnancy, labor, and delivery.  Babies born to parents that have put in the time and effort to maintain and grow their own health and wellness are healthier, happier, and more vibrant themselves.

Through the struggle of a traumatic birth, children with health challenges, pregnancy complications, and postpartum anxiety and depression, I found the answer to prevention.  I am called to guide couples on this journey.  God equipped me to do so through my experiences and education.
