Valentines Day is upon us! Fancy wine & dine dates are so lovely, but if you’re looking to save a few bucks and avoid heavy carbs or alcohol, keep on reading!
-The Discovery Game: When was the last time you & your spouse had a conversation that wasn’t about work or the kids? This board game makes meaningful conversations happen. It’s “date night in a box”!
-Cook a healthy dinner together: Go to Aldi and choose a few fresh ingredients. Then cook it all Chopped style, without a recipe. Judge each others’ skills & declare a winner!
-Camping: my favorite website for finding inexpensive campsites is HipCamp. Think Airbnb, but for camping. You can find some real gems on there for pretty cheap.
-Coffee Date: If you have children, daytime dates are the absolute best. No babysitter needed! Milwaukee is a great city to get coffee: try Fairgrounds by Lake Michigan and go for a scenic walk afterward. If you don’t want to go downtown, try NSeven in Grafton or Java House in Cedarburg.
-Hiking: A great hidden gem for hiking is the Cedarburg Bog. Kohler Andre state park is another spot I love to visit. When it gets a little warmer, pack a picnic and drive to Holy Hill.
-A day-date to Juiced! in Milwaukee: the yummiest, most fresh juice around. Go see where it’s made and get a few bottles.
-Home kombucha tasting with another couple: think of it like a wine or craft beer tasting, but actually good for your gut! Go to a health food store and pick out a few kombucha flavors that look intriguing. Bust out the fancy glasses & charcuterie boards.
-Coffee at the chiropractor. I’ve had quite a few couples say that visiting the chiropractor every week feels like a date. We try to keep our Keurig selection stocked so it can feel like a treat. :)
