My Top 12 HOLY GRAIL BEAUTY PRODUCTS

Ladies, it’s unfortunate that we have to think about this, but we do.

Your beauty products, you know, the ones that go directly on your skin daily? Yeah those… many of them contain ingredients that are incredibly harmful to your endocrine and nervous systems. Other countries ban these ingredients for their toxicity, but we have to navigate the Target makeup aisle wisely here in the US.

If you’re interested in learning some of my tried-and-true faves, keep on reading…

Skincare:

I’m just going to rave about Mother Loving Potions here for a minute…

Man Hands hand lotion by Mother Loving Potions is my absolute favorite during the winter for my dry hands. It works like nothing else does.

My favorite soap is the Shave Bar - it’s so creamy and moisturizing. All of her handcrafted soaps are amazing, though. You need to try one of her goat milk formulations.

Her Tallow Balm is my go-to for a facial moisturizer. It’s great for combination skin. I usually use it as a night cream so all the goodness can soak in while I sleep.

Makeup:

Beauty Counter is what I use most of the time. It’s kind of middle-of-the-line clean. It’s not the absolute cleanest, but it’s leaps and bounds better than anything you’ll find in a drugstore.

My favorite mascara comes from them: The Think Big mascara.

I always prefer a tinted moisturizer over a foundation. Their Dew Skin tinted moisturizer is really great.

For my lips, I go for Primally Pure’s tinted balm. Wisconsin winter is hard on my lips, so I go for a balm before lipstick. This one has just enough color - it’s one of those “my lips but better” shades.

To take it all off, try Primally Pure’s Cleansing Oil. This one comes in 3 different formulations for 3 different skin types. It melts away your makeup without resulting in the stripped, tight feeling of a traditional cleanser.

I also love that most of Primally Pure’s formulations are food-grade. Don’t eat them, but rest assured knowing the ingredients are of such high quality that you could. ;)

Hygiene:

For deodorant, I love the aluminum-free option from Nourish Natural Products here in Milwaukee.

Nourish’s Cooling Spray is great for a refresh after a lunch-break walk around the block or for sunkissed shoulders in the summer. The ingredients are simple and super clean. It’s great for long car trips - a little spritz on your face and chest will leave you feeling alert and awake.

For hand soap, please try Primally Pure’s Spring hand soap. The smell? Incredible. Think expensive, all-inclusive resort and spa, but without the nasty “parfum” headache.

Haircare:

I LOVE the Beauty Counter shampoo and conditioner for my curly hair. The smell is very refreshing and my hair always feels clean.

I have to give Target some credit in this category. I really like the Odele brand carried there. The ingredients are relatively simple (they follow European standards for ingredients - yay!) and it works wonders on my hair.

There you have it! Which one are you going to try first? Let me know your clean beauty favorites in our patient-exclusive Facebook group.
