A Mom’s Perspective Through Chiropractic: My Postpartum Experience with Lily

A  Mom’s Perspective Through Chiropractic: My Postpartum Experience with Lily

After Lily was born, I knew I wanted to take care of both of us, so I brought her in for a new baby exam and scheduled a postpartum exam for myself. As a new mom, I was overwhelmed, especially since Lily was experiencing discomfort from gas and reflux. These issues were causing sleep disturbances and making nursing challenging. Lily weighed only 5 pounds, 12 ounces at birth, so ensuring she was getting enough breastmilk and growing was a top priority for me and my husband.

I felt lost on how to help her, but that’s when Dr. Camille at Early Beginnings stepped in.

She walked me through various techniques I could use at home to ease Lily’s gas and constipation, and she assured me that chiropractic care would help relieve the issues we were facing. I was hopeful and ready to try anything to make Lily feel better and improve our breastfeeding journey.

At the same time, I was dealing with neck pain and soreness from nursing, which was adding to the physical toll of being a new mom. After chiropractic care for both myself and Lily, the changes were noticeable. Lily started sleeping better, her gas issues improved, and she nursed more comfortably and for longer periods. It was a huge relief to see her growing and thriving.

For me, chiropractic care helped alleviate the neck pain I was experiencing, making it easier to continue nursing and care for Lily. The support I received made a tremendous difference during those early weeks, and I’m grateful for the guidance and care that helped both of us through this important time.

Consistent chiropractic also helped lower my stress levels. In addition to being postpartum and having a newborn, my husband was gearing up for an internship year. This would mean that we were going to have to move from Thiensville for a year. Talk about life changes and stress! We found out that we were going to be moving to Egg Harbor in Door County, Wisconsin for next year. Dr. Camille was readily available with a referral so we could continue to be under chiropractic care after we moved.

Stay tuned for the next segment of A Mom’s Perspective, where I talk about our move back to Thiensville and coming back to Early Beginnings!
